Hidden
Body trapped in a corner,
Eyes drowning in sorrow.
Mind racing with questions,
No one seems to know the answer.
Face numb from smiling,
All in a charade,
Mouth sealed shut,
Set in a blockade,
A sea of people begins to flow,
Words friendly,
Eyes cruel,
Hands beckoning.
Staring the girl down
Judging nonstop,
Creating an army of pleas,
To break through the wall.
Until the wall breaks.
Tears stream down her face,
Voice ever so loud,
Breaking and cracking.
Until it’s silent.
Mind relieved for a few moments.
Then turns to horrified.
Then fills up with more unanswerable questions.
