The old routine blues
Over and over
Bland and grey
But, all I want is to break away
Go somewhere quiet and have it my way
Just grab my guitar and hit the road
Only with my future untold
The old routine blues is a song
And I can sing it all night long
People would come from far and wide
Just to give my routine their goodbyes
The old routine blues happy and cool
If it wasn’t a song it would be a jewel
But now in time my routine must stay
So I can create my old routine blues
While other tell their stories and play
