"I think we ought to read only the kind of books that wound or stab us. If the book we’re reading doesn’t wake us up with a blow to the head, what are we reading for?" -Franz Kafka

Windows contracted down
in the crack lights beaming
on the road in front of
the car gliding down the
street at 55 miles per
hour going by buildings
houses fields drive
past them all drive
toward the dissipating light drive
as far as you can drive
to where the sun never surrenders
