Bigger Than This Town
I fear this town will make me bitter,
that I'll become a little more sour each year
with each flip of the calendar I'll have more despair
these streets may whittle my soul until I am nothing but dust.
It might be selfish but it's what I crave
I desire to be remembered for something
I want to do spectacular things
 travel the world
 make history
 love blissfully
I yearn for a life worth sharing
the kind that needs to be told
 for years after my departure
on every inch of this earth.
I lust for a life of ambition
to live with no shame or regret
 to stretch beyond my means
and live each moment without care
I covet those who have it
and I aspire to be more
 I'll push past the obstacles
 Focus on my dream
Pursue a life that is better than average
 Void of sadness.
