Beyond the Moment

Beyond the moment, the smashed past,
The hushed murmurs,
The shattered mast,
You lie awake; you’ve taken a knock,
While treacherous thoughts,
Do Run a ’mock.
Each punch was thrown with utter purpose,
Each one designed,
To make you nervous,
What to do when the one you trust,
Is the pain that breaks,
Through all the lust
So what do you do, you’re now so broken,
Crushed, Wrecked,
From words unspoken,
You broke my heart, you broke my bones,
Took my innocence,
But now I’m home.
