Declaration of a Dreamer
I hereby resign myself
 To sleepless nights
 Dreamless days
 Mornings wearing gray
And a few of the most captivating sunsets of all time

 I promise to accept
That fingerprints can kill a moth
Red eyes are better than white faces
 Eraser shavings sing
And no one likes lost longing

 And yes, I understand
Running with a pen won't win the race
 Most whispers are not heard
Truth is weak compared to lies
 And sensitivity is strange

But that will never guard me
From a hope in backwards hunger
Laughter when there should be tears
 (or the other way around)
 Love that breaks down walls
 And the faintest, subtle scent
 Of a sunrise cracking pitch

(or the other way around)" That is so, so true. I never even thought of that, but I wish I had. That's great.
