After Dark
What is it about the sundown
that releases all my fears,
magnifies my doubt,
and multiplies my tears?
Is the sunshine really so lovely
as to paint such a perfect façade?
Or is it just a source of strength
that helps me carry on?
I just wonder what it is about
the midnight hour so late
that intensifies my discontent,
which hides throughout the day.
