Loose Cannon
The edge of the cliff, dangerous territory
The highest rung and the flick of the switch
Around you feeling like wet stone steps
I move one step and freefall
A chess game you always win
When I never wanted to play
Flick of your wrist and I’m over
I can’t breathe around you while you storm
I can’t speak around you fearlessly
I walk the line of your borderline
Like a tightrope waiting to snap
I can’t live waiting for you to cut
The cord in just a few words
 Unpredictable weather I survive
In raging waves and cool still water
You may be blood but the tide runs fast
 Swinging from delight to agony
 Never reason any apologies
 I’m clinging to the plank
With a knife dangling over my fingertips
I can’t live in your internal war zone
 Shrapnel flies where it may
 And pierces to the bone
