Secretive Eyes
Eyes are the windows to the soul,
Used to hide all of ones deepest secrets.
Although they seem easy enough to read,
They are bound by locks stronger than steel.
You can't judge a person on looks and behavior alone
Since looks can be deceiving.
Confident people are often the most insecure,
But are also the least likely to show it.
Hiding away all the darkness that one has inside,
Everything they aren't allowed to say.
Any glimpses of their true feelings reside,
Buried deep, deep down, searching for a way out.
Only a select few are able to break the threshold,
Delving in to bring light to the gloom that has formed.
To see the true person that lives inside,
Behind those unrevealing eyes.
