Favorite Quote:
I press on toward the goal to win the prize in which Christ has called me heavenward.
Philippians 3:14

Pressure is pulling at me
Will I collapse,
Give and cave?
World; yes
Me; no
Will I struggle,
Feel alone and helpless?
World laughs

I Defy,
Embrace Diversity
Being me
Not a clone
Differences: define

Temptations arise
Testing me
Testing my faith
Will the world secede?

I surrender
I kneel
I pray
With God given strength,
I Defy

My twin sister and I both performed this as a two voice poem at our school wide poetry slam. We fortunate to have tied for third place with two other students. : )

This poem was inspired by the challenges of society that we face as believers in Christ. So we defy them but, in the good way. Sometimes there are beliefs and attributes that set us apart from the "world". But with the love and guidance of God we are able to overcome.
