Unmasked
"Getting to know her is a difficult task
because she’s always hiding behind her mask."
-vera-gail
You think I am oblivious,
But I have news to share.
I am far more observant
Than I may appear.
When you are in pain,
I am here to help.
I notice when you are distressed,
Hiding behind your mask.
But I am here to tell you
I care for your life.
When you are in pain,
I will comfort you.
Wishing to be dead in the ground
Is a selfish dream.
I am here to offer help
Through these tough times.
When you are in pain,
I am listening.
So do not be afraid, my friend
For I know how you feel.
The feeling of loneliness
Will soon disappear.
When you are in pain,
I will be right here.
I was once in a place like you,
Thinking of harmful things.
But please always remember,
People will love you.
When you are in pain,
You are not alone.
You never know who you impact,
Your life is important.
Please remember this message,
Someone cares for you.
When you are in pain,
Your friends will love you.
Lift the burden from your shoulders.
Friends can relieve the pain.
It’s time to remove your mask,
And face the world strong.
When you are in pain,
Your friends will save you.

I was inspired to write this after reading Vera-gail's poem, The Mask. I wanted to let people know that they're going to be ok, and someone will always be there them.
