blind faith
when talking with a friend once
i was shocked and surprised when she said
“i fell in love”
i’ve heard that phrase so many times
but it was weird somehow
hearing it from someone i know well
someone so close to my own age
it reminded me that i’m at that age where i could fall in love,
given the chance
which is weird because i’m always imagining what love would be like,
and two of my closest friends already know it
they’ve shaken hands with it,
smelled it and felt its sweater
and i’m over here,
staring at a computer screen,
writing about something i know to exist
and how do i know?
i call it blind faith.
