The Pheonix
You can see the way her wings are damaged;
Broken, bloodied, sore.
You can see how she longs to be up in the sky;
Hoping, praying, wanting more.
You can see the way her wrists are damaged;
Broken, bloodied, sore.
You can see how she longs to be happy for once;
Hoping, praying, wanting more.
Her colors were unbelievably bright;
Shining, daring, delicate.
Flying solo through the clouds whispers;
Alone, fragile, tempting fate.
Her smile was unbelievably bright;
Shining, daring, delicate.
Flying solo through the school halls;
Alone, fragile, tempting fate.
Our Phoenix must be reborn and she has outgrown this old shell.
She nests on her branch, ready to die;
Waiting, patient, prepared.
She excepts that she can't continue;
Rescue, peace, scared.
She nests on her bed, ready to die;
Waiting, patient, prepared.
She excepts that she can't continue;
Rescue, peace, scared.
She nods to herself to begin;
Rebirth, death, life.
She can feel her ashes begin to spread;
Gone, lost, strife.
She nods to herself to begin;
Rebirth, death, life.
She can feel her pain begin to shed;
Gone, lost, strife.
It took death to keep our Phoenix alive.
Her beauty is too hard to capture;
Elegant, perfect, imperfect.
She tests her unscathed wings;
Pure, clean, worth it.
Her beauty is too hard to capture;
Elegant, perfect, imperfect.
She tests her unscarred wrists;
Pure, clean, worth it.
The fire that burned through her;
Hot, numbing, painful.
It destroyed her yet also saved her;
Save, safe, savior.
The sadness that burned through her;
Cold, numbing, painful.
It destroyed her yet also saved her;
Save, safe, savior.
She was reborn so strong and beautiful.
