Is there a way to escape something unescapable?

Do you stare into it, or do you approach it,

Do you walk around it, or wait as you sit?
It shows an opposite world, filled with cold and fear,
Still I stare into my soul, my thoughts becoming clear.
The feeling of sorrow and pain uplifting my mind,
My fate feeling printed, feeling ready to sign.
Tell me this; let me know, of what you think I am,
And help me see the light, see the person they disband.

The author's comments:

I created this late one night as I stared outside, and started typing. I looked into my soul and typed more. Then rhyme comes to rhyme, here it is.
