Rebirth
A breach in the atmosphere
A tearing of threads
A door opens;
Welcome my friends.
---
The tenderlings of the fluorescent billows of gold
Twitter about on five spindly legs
Each one having a single clawed toe
They lick the discolored soil with their endless tongues
Which always seem to escape their overly tooth-ridden mouths
Their bodies quiver and waver in light
It’s hard to decipher their tones
They drag their lanky twisted crimson tails
Coyote ears wriggling, stalking the beats of footsteps
Their eyes dart, always frantic, always black
They only have one need
But don’t we all
The tenderlings of the fluorescent billows of gold
Twitter about, until we fade completely away
And eternity falls like the clatter of silver knives
