Always remember, your haters are your biggest fans. Those who criticize you are only begging you to get better.

She was the broken girl
In the corner
Beaten
Abused
Alone
She had no one
And still doesn’t

She became a slave to her pills
Shackled and chained
To the wall of the pull they had on her
She went crazy, insane
Until she needed her drugs to live
She felt like she breathed for them
Because when she took them
She felt all her problems melt away
She was free
Euphoric
Ecstatic
In a sort of beautiful place beyond normal life
But then she came down
Like a lead balloon
Pain
Hatred
Anger
Was all she felt
Until she swore she was looking at the devil himself
And that’s how her life went
If you could even call it that
Up and down
Up and down
Like a messed up rollercoaster fueled by narcotics
For years she never saw the light
She stayed hidden in the darkness
In a haze of illegal smoke
No one knew about her
And it seemed like no one cared
So she kept lighting up
Popping pills
Forgetting everything beautiful life offers
Trading pride for powder
Beauty for smoke
And purpose for needles
She gave her drugs everything
They took and they took
Until one day they decided to take it all

It started like any other day
The girl played with Mary Jane
And then some needles
A deadly game of Pick-Up-Sticks
She had sight, but no vision
And had no clue that she was gambling with her life
Until the foreign substances
That her body, early on, had learned to recognize as old friends
Became too much
The girl vanished
That’s what happens when your only friends can kill you at any moment
And they did
Knocked her out cold
Hazel eyes still open
Lips still parted
As though her life was simply paused
But there’s no rewind button on life
So the girl remained stuck, in that one moment, forever
And at that moment, Hell gained another dark angel
As the girl spread her wings
And finally flew
