used to be
I was walking along a regular day, when out of the corner of my eye I saw a tree. A tree lucious and green. I would not have even stopped at this particularly large, particularly green tree if i hadn't thought my eyes had decieved me. As my gaze drew up into the canopy of green leaves, I saw that one of those leaves were red, not green. So I walked under the peculiar tree's branches and politely asked this; "why, when it is well over a moon past spring is that leaf there not green?" And the tree rustled a little and replied; "that there red leaf is a reminder to me." "A reminder of what?" I asked inquizitively. I felt the tree smile as he said, "a reminder of what I used to be."
