A firefly
A single drunken firefly
Stumbling around in the night
Trying to die
But instead learning to fly
Dropping the bottle from his hand
Onto the shard strewn ground
Scared all alone looking around
Before him his life flashes
Seeing scene after scene
Of bottles and cigarettes and matches
He shakes his head and the camera begins to roll
As he picks up the shards and makes it whole
One piece at a time he starts to glow
His light beginning to overflow
beginning to overthrow
The gloomy dark
With a rainbow
A spark catches,
The light flashes,
And a single drunken firefly
Staggers his way home
And on a sleeve dirty and black
He proudly shows the shards of his heart
And light is seeping through the cracks
