The Blind
Some people are blind yet they do not know.
The have these eyes of green, blue, brown, or gold:
Yet they still cannot see.
Their eyes glaze over even when knowledge sweeps by
They cannot see the incredible wonders of words under their nose
They cannot see.
Their eyes stare unfocused at the bright greens of the world
Yet they widen at a tiny screen
It is as if they expect to find the universe in a 10inch screen
I am one of these blind people
But I do not want to be
I do not want to be blind to the universe
I want my eyes to catch the glint of the sun
I want my eyes to crinkle at the smile of my family
I want my eyes to absorb in every tiny detail of this world
Because who knows how much longer until my eyes cannot comeback from the blind
I am blind yet now I know
And I will change.
