I Am A Writer
I am a writer.
I love stories.
I live for unpredictable plot twists and mysterious characters.
Words mean more to me than any action ever will.
I think of book ideas, quotes, poems at the worst possible time-
at basketball practice, during a math test, in the shower,
whenever a pen and paper are just out of my reach.
I am a writer.
I write for a living.
Although, I don't make money off of it,
but I gain something that money could never buy.
I get this feeling, this rush,
that cannot be recreated by anything else.
It's the feeling of creating your own world,
where nothing else, nobody else matters,
except for what you make of it.
So, I guess instead of writing for a living,
I live to write.
I am a writer.
I invest myself into what I write.
My writing, my characters, my novels-
they aren't me.
They're my best friend, my parents, my teacher,
they're that guys's phone conversation I overheard,
the waitress's one-liner.
And, yes, some ideas, some characters,
you can see parts of me in them,
but you will never know which part is me
and which is them.
I am a writer.
I leave you wondering.
