Strangling me with your tough roots,
I'm choking, gasping,
but I can smell the flowers
through the dark
so, I take your
steal toed weight on my head
you're pushing, reaching
I can feel you reaching high
you're tugging, yanking
but you're always a beat behind
so I watched,
your imagination hit the ground as
softly as a fall leaf but the
ground had been frozen over
for weeks now.
iIcould smell the flowers
but you couldn't find the light.
