What if I rode a broomstick through the night?
Would I have an ugly nose, and cackle like a hyena?
Must I eat children all day as well?
Must I be evil and hideous?

What if I was wrongly accused?
What if I weigh more than waterfowl?
What if I sink?
Must I wear pretty clothing and be a damsel in distress,
For if I am not a witch, must I be pretty then?

And what of today’s Halloween?
What must I make of that witch?
Must I wear all black and Lace?
Put lots of makeup on my face?
Reveal my body to society,
or hide indoors because I’m not society’s beautiful?

What if I were truly a witch,
Who would I be, then?
Would I be society’s witch,
Or would I just be me?
