Jumping Through the Air

“Next!” The official says.
She stands as still as can be,
a breath from a person under water coming up for air, but slower,
Silence.
Slowly starting to bounce up and down,
then, closer to the final destination,
feet touching the ground for a split second, then in the air again.
Bounce. Bounce. Bounce.
Squat.
Lands in the sand, all ready to dry off,
after the ground was once moving from beneath him.
