"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth." - Oscar Wilde

You wake me from sleep with a gentle hand
Though I deserve your righteous anger
From your eyes, it's clear that you understand
The echos of when you touched me linger
Extinguished by the noises from the trees
As that scoundrel runs out to kiss your cheek
My sword brings the first soldier to his knees
Though I relent when you begin to speak
You reach out and make the man whole again
But he will not hear the truth of your word
You're taken away by these brutal men
The smile on your face is so absurd
I'll never understand your behavior
But I trust you, for you are my Savior

I'm not a religious person, but I was raised Catholic, and I love messing around with the stories from the Bible in my work.
