Monsters
Down the river, across the road, I saw
I saw many different creatures stare
Most there to tear, not even having hair
I tried to run, but they just showed their claw
I yelled, I cried, but there was no way out
Or so I thought, until one of them spoke
The voice of a monster had made a joke
I look around confused, captured in thought
Music plays, trees sway, monsters stomp their feet
A party playing out in front of me
Huge hands bring me up to dance to the beat
I close my eyes, and never want to flee
Looking to my left, spotting a huge feast
The feeling of acceptance falls on me.
