Words are my life from dawn to sunny dawn
The perfect form of expression to me
Yet I open my mouth and they are gone
And I cannot fathom where they could flee
I try and try to transmute thought to speech
Attempt to overcome crippling shyness
And all that comes is a terrible screech
Which is to me no passable likeness
Beauty can be found in simplicity
That much has always been perfectly clear
But beauty is not the highest degree
One can reach in this art I hold so dear
Only when pen meets paper do I find
The easy eloquence that fills my mind

I wrote this for school a few years ago. I've always had a hard time articulating myself verbally. I just have so many ideas, and they are all fighting to get out first.
