The world is full of phonies.
They suck the world of glee.
They killed my brother Allie,
And now they’re killing me.

You see these phonies everywhere:
A house, a park, a street.
And in my adolescence
With them I always meet

One phony being Ernie,
The player of the keys.
Through his talent’s greatness,
All phonies he will please.

Another phony Sally.
A damn good looking girl indeed.
Off shows, and plays, and matinees.
Off all of these she feeds.

But the biggest of the phonies,
I found him through Phoebe.
Lying, buying, crying, dying,
The biggest one is me.

The world is full of phonies.
They suck the world of glee.
I killed my brother Allie,
And now I’m killing me.
