The Music
Only until the music fades away,
Does the boy get up to start eating.
The words of the others are like a beating,
The walk to the tables seems to last a day.
It never stops, much to his dismay.
The kids at school are always competing,
To see who is best at being mistreating.
To him, they are all birds of prey.
He finally sits down, not looking all right,
He pulls out the music player that's in poor shape.
The earbuds placed in his left ear then his right.
He presses the "play" button on his tape.
Lacking the courage to stand up and fight,
The music is his only escape.
