Two of Me
There’s two of me

 of me

     of me
 We work at different
 Tides
 Never together but
 always so
 The Tides change
 rapidly.

 Somehow I know
 when I am one
 Which is Never –
 I’m always Two.

 We live far apart
 and unspeakably

 close.
 And we work at
 different Tides.

 I don’t know
 what happens
When the Tide is not mine
For I take my body as well.
 It’s funny – the black

 with flashes of light

 and faces that can

 never have names.

This is what I see when the Tide
 is not mine.

 I fall asleep as me
 and sleep for days
 And the Tides may change
but I lack a way to

 wake up.

 And when I do
 the shoes I’m wearing
 are not really mine

 and my body bears
 marks that weren’t

 there.

 There’s two of me

 of me

     of me
 We work at different
 Tides
 Never together but
 always so
 And the Tides change
 rapidly.
