I wish could exempt this assignment
What cruel and unusual punishment!
For me to write is hard you see
it fills me with much agony ~
I try so hard to sit and rhyme,
but this is such a waste of time!
You see it is no accident,
That I am an incompetent
For the life of a poet I never felt the vibes,
I really wish you would just accept some bribes
Is it really such a crime?
You'd be getting more than dimes!
I guess this really is a predicament,
I'd better figure this out so I don't cry of embarrassment
But I guess I should get back to reality ~
Before I get sent straight to Germany
I'm sure you would all hate to be in my position,
for certainly I am no poetic magician!
Although it is recorded as ancient tradition,
to me it is all just bored repetition!
Severe I hope is not my penalty -
for not reciting this from memory
I hope for me you have some sympathy
For poetry I have no real affinity
I assure you there was no treachery,
It was all from my unique ability
I hope you have enjoyed my presentation
I hope no one died of starvation
Even though I still regard it has hokey superstition,
I'm quite surprised I managed such a composition.
