The Missing Picture
She sits alone at lunch
Do you even notice her?
As scenery in your perfect world
She no longer sits there
Do you even notice that, there she no longer sits?
Or will a new picture be painted in her place
She no longer comes here, do you know why
Do you feel surprised that her picture has gone missing?
The scene is missing a crucial point
She now lies alone in her best clothes
Do you go and cry with all your friends?
Will you see the portrait, noticing every piece
But she had only been scenery
Or was she something more?
You will never know.
