I Don't Dare

I don't dare
close my eyes
to fall asleep
Because the fear
of what the next day
will bring
haunts me in my dreams
And I don't dare
cry
because my tears
are drops of acid
and leave scares on my face
that shows weakness
So I just lay
like a living corpse
until one day
the light at the end of the tunnel
finally shines.
