Jingle, Jangle boomed the closet door,
Tingle tangle thumped the carpet floor.

I slunk under the sheet peeking with my eyes
To see a horrific monster of terrific size.

A sight like this never had I seen,
Not at all mellow, but monstrously mean!

All his fur filled with funky fickle colored dots
Of which I fought I faw a fot!

His hair be jangled as a clown,
Hoping around like the color brown.

Rather obviously ominous and quite preposterous
Seemed his silly humps and bumps quite hilarious.

After his especially extraordinary sight,
You might expect I gave a fright.

But before begging a truce
he grabbed me and said “don’t be like a hipopatamoose.

(Only a cross between a hippo and a moose
Which I learned from cat the goose.”)

At this I became bamboozled like a baboon
And he said “adios hipopatamoose I’m going soon!”

But my parents came in,
And I pretended to sleep again

Yet, when they left I looked around,
my monster friend could not be found.

As I slunk back into bed I thought about the thing
That gave me a scare and a sting

But jingle, jangle rumbled the toy chest
and out came another monster guest!
