Unsent, Unread, Unknown
Around my neck, I bear the chains of faded gold and worn black string, through which I am bound to you
I feel it thump against my chest just as I feel my heart beats synching with it
It calls to me in silence; a silence no one else can hear
“Sister, sister.”
Yet, its persisting groping at my attention is no burden
Despite weighing the world and heavens combined, it feels as if it is just another part of my body, and soul, because you are holding up half the load on the other end, giving me strength, comfort and confidence, as, around your neck, through faded gold and worn black string, I faintly call out
“Brother, brother.”
