In my Reflection
In this room of mirrors I see
What is not me
But what used to be.
Now a smile
Tomorrow it is weakened
By their words.
They don't understand
How badly it hurts.
Truth is truth
But sometimes we wish
It was a lie.
It's these kind of thoughts
That kill us inside.
We let this define
Who we are
And our true selves are lost forever.
More lies
And to many nevers.
We will one day look in this mirror and be
No longer Making corrections
But seeing what is truly our
our reflections.
Until that day comes
I sit here and stare
My selfish truth
There's nothing there.
