Stealth

Stealth lurks
in the darkness
waiting for his chance
to strike.
A rogue,
cloaked in black
and running,
his nimble feet
taking him from rooftop
to rooftop.
Periodically, he peeks
out of the shadows
at his target—
who has no idea
of their upcoming
demise.
He embraces
the overcoming rush
of adrenaline
as he closes in
on the kill.
Down the side of a building,
front flipping
over a dumpster,
right behind the victim.
There’s a slice…
And it’s over.
Another paycheck earned.
