We are one nation.

We are one nation.
I won't say you're wrong there.
But tell me why it has to be
A nation under God?
God is not over me.
So why do I have to be under Him?
I will pledge allegiance
to my country.
But I will not pledge
to a god I don't believe in.
I will stay in my seat.
I will not rise to pledge to Him.
I don't care how many times
They send me home.
I don't care how many times
Those girls
With crosses
Push me against the lockers.
I won't say the pledge.
I will never say the pledge
If it means I pledge to be under Him,
When He is not over me.

I really like this and I can definitely relate. Recently I decided that I do believe in God, but I don't think it's right to include him in the pledge.... religion shouldn't be in public schools.

Do you think you could check out my stuff sometime?
