For Maddy
For Maddy
Her life, immortalized in me and pen
Fills mine with meaning
And through her I can find myself again
Surrounded by a sickly mother
Who tried to take the best of me
she did what she thought would bring me further
I had the option to leave everything I knew
And start again, away from my own devil
but my new family, too, whom she slew
Pulling out that gun and the firing started
Was it a spur of the moment thing?
Different targets, but it still hit my heart
And in trying to keep me to herself
She broke the only thing keeping me there; her own spell
