Sweet soul,
why do you wear those tired eyes?
Just let go,
the nights not worth a second of your time.
In town,
you'll force a smile towards the sky,
but at home,
you'll lay down your mask and let those tears fly!
Quiet child,
there is no blame on you.
Love is vile,
and you had absolutely no clue.
Just smile,
and shed those tired red eyes.
No more trials,
because the nights not worth anymore of your time.
Stay true,
and from this path you'll never stray.
Long overdue,
is the love you will one day gain.
Careless hearts,
forever regret the sorrow they wrought,
Tired eyes,
the only thing their dark sould brought.

The author's comments:
There are so many people out in this world who need to know that they are important. They need to know they are loved, and precious, and so I wrote tired eyes in a way that would have people feel as though they had just received a letter from a close friend, or family member, telling them to forget those "careless hearts," who may have hurt them, and to look forward to what comes after the night.

I love it! Its so dark and sad, it gives a sense of melancholy to the reader.

Wow. This is my favorite so far. I love how this one is written in one giant stanza. Good job!
