Hello tree
It’s nice to see you again
Different now
But I remember
When you were a tiny sprout
A tuft of green on a stock of brown.
So small, so weak.
Now you are bold
Leaves unfurling,
Branches creeping to the sky
Searching for light,
Tilting with the breeze.
And you are safe.
No longer seeking a place to hide,
You seek the world
The birds and beasts.
And it’s nice to see you
