Unhappy
I feel proud, Hearing their anticipation,
Knowing I am the guest of honor,
Dying to see their faces when I arrive.
I hear the boisterous guests waiting for me.
But they don’t want me for me.
They don’t know me, to them I am just
Power,
Prestige,
Popularity.
Living a sheltered, trapped life.
I am lonely, not knowing the real world.
I have never known
Hardship,
Poverty,
Hunger.
The guests gather to see me arrive
But they do not want me for me,
They are not my friends, they are just
Admirers,
Backstabbers,
Acquaintances.
I am like a stranger in my own house.
I have everything,
Then why am I so unhappy?
