Shell
i have a shell
 it glows
 in the sun's bleeding rays
 iridescent
 sherbet colors
 crystallized ny the
 salt
 that dries the throat
 a bystander
 trembles at the sight,
 the standstill
 virulence
 of an everyday
 sandy
 shell.
 i retreat inside,
 two star-crossed lovers
 uncross themselves
 the waves
 dampen
 the dried
 out
 emotion
 of my crusty shell
 and wash away my
 salty
 tears.
 i retreat into my
 shell,
 fall to the bottom
 of the
 ocean,
 i do not
 resurface.
