The Sun Lies in Wait
The clouds form a gloomy sky outside
The sun lies in wait behind the clouds
Such gloom one should feel,
But where is that feeling?
Why should I feel like that?
Where are the people walking with their heads down?
Where are the people isolating themselves in the corner?
I feel great today,
No crashes during peak hour,
No one is beating each other to a pulp,
No one is holding a screaming match,
No one is sitting outside with tears.
I’m not crying and shaking on the ground, waiting for ambulance,
I’m not tearfully revealing what I’ve done to myself,
I’m not pulling out any hair,
I’m not picking at my skin,
I don’t feel bad about my body,
And I feel confident today.
Now I must go make the trip to the school therapist
And tell her all this
Before I have another meltdown.
