Lock and Key
Once upon a time
In a land so far away
 I gave away my heart
To a boy who didn’t stay

I’ve since then learned my lesson
I’m much wiser for my years
Some good came from it after all
 Despite the pain and tears

But now it all repeats again
And I want to give my heart
To a boy who makes me smile
Who I trust won’t break me apart

But from the hurting times before
From the pain I have endured
I know my heart is fragile
And I wish to keep it secured

So despite what I feel now
And how much he means to me
I feel the need to keep my heart
 Protected under lock and key
