I love things like these:
Grandma’s laugh, whispering and sweet,
Mother’s way of forgetting words and replacing them with “thingy,”
Time, long and short and straight and bumpy,
Brother’s hum and whistle going on and on,
Glasses, chiming and twinkling as they’re put up,
Sister’s way of swooning over her crush,
My dog, handsome and loyal and mischievous,
Light as it pours through the windows,
Papa’s confusion with the modern ways,
Coke, crackling and popping over dry ice.
