Where Were You?
Here I am.
Standing
on top of the
dragon's nose-not
brave, but numb.
I've been waiting
for you to see me,
but your head has
been turned for
some time now.
My hair is
whipping harshly at
my face like all of
the fear and doubt
and self-loathing
has at the rest
of me.
I am standing here,
at the head of
this beast-not
fearless or courageous,
just reckless.
And you are just too
calm.
