I stood along the sand
Staring far and wide
As the evening sun sunk past
Leaving a dark night sky.
I watched as the water changed
Slowly, from clear to blue
And slowly darkened
With the land
White to black to blue
I stood all through the night
Watching the crescent moon
Watching once again
As the land changed,
Slowly, from black to blue
I said hello to the sun
Then bade the beach farewell
As I walked farther onto land
Leaving the sea to dwell
