don't shush me until i blow out our smoke
i want to write a poem that isn't about you.
believe me, i want to forget every moment that didn't matter to y o u.
the reason you're hidden in every poem like the salt in the sea,
is because poetry is supposed to mean something;
stand for something.
no words seem right unless they're wrapped around our memories,
wringing out screams and unheard confessions.
i will pour my agony and pain into these words and bake them into our nonexistent future.
i'll sprinkle it with unexpected laughs, and spontaneous kisses.
and we'll be happy.
i am stuck in the present, with no sign of you.
