White Lines

These curtains drip down translucently white,
and I remember in 6th grade science class
they taught us the difference between transparent
and opaque, and kind of just stuck translucent
in between, like it was a happy medium.
Anyway, these curtains cover the window
beside my desk, making it impossible
to ever know when it's snowing.
