An Inconvenient Truth
Al Gore's documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, has drawn a lot of attention to the pressing issue of global warming. The documentary opens the eyes of readers to the inevitable fate of our planet if nothing is done to reduce our carbon emissions. The key fact is the correlation between the amount of carbon in the atmosphere and the global temperature. Gore thoroughly explains both the causes and effects of global warming while also adding insightful diagrams and interesting pictures inside the book. Gore also adds insightful personal stories and experiences which contrast the somewhat cut to the chase style of the documentary. Missing however, is Gore's great plan to solve the crisis is. He spends most of the book explaining causes and effects of global warming and fails to spend enough time to give concrete solutions to the problem. While the book is informative and eye opening, it doesn't deliver enough on the solution side.
